Blue's News

- nice little article here about the return of seniors Jake Long, Mike Hart, and Chade Henne and their expectations for the 2007 team

- Big Ten predictions, including a Hoosier bowl appearance and a Hawkeye return to glory!

- this is an old post from Big Jim, but it's new to me... so blow. I just get a kick out of JD sometimes...

Well, it's about time!

After much deliberation, Carson Butler has been reinstated to the team. As a talented TE and fourth on the team last year in number of receptions, Butler is a welcomed addition to an already strong offense!

07'-08' Rule Changes

By now, most people are aware of the two big rule changes: the clock once again starting on the snap instead of the ready-to-play signal, and kickoffs starting at the 30 instead of the 35... but the list does go on. Outside of the aforementioned two rules, I think the addition of egregious fouls to reviewable replays is the most notable of changes. Imagine last year if the refs had been allowed to replay the "sideline brawl" of the Miami-Florida International game and actually penalize the teams during the game. It's too early to say if this rule is a good idea or not but, when used, it will definitely have a heavy impact on future games...

Michigan #5 in both polls

The AP poll is out and Michigan is, once again, number five. Not a whole lot of differences between the press and the coaches... save that Florida and West Virginia swap spots at #3 and #6. I suppose I'm leaning towards the media's take on things. As much as I think West Virginia is overrated, I can't imagine that Florida will be able to replace so many players and still be competitive in the SEC, especially come October with a nasty road trip to LSU. Anyone disagree? (hell, is ANYONE even out there?)

As for Michigan being number 5, I'm glad we're not any higher and wish that we were a little lower. Anyone else notice that we seem to do better when we're NOT in the preseason top 10? I think Lloyd likes earning those top spots- and the team always responds well when they're underestimated... it's as if too much talk of an undefeated season could up and jinx us!

Michigan may be cool, but Appalachian State is HOT HOT HOT!

possibly the LEAST intimidating thing I've ever seen in my life...

Mike Hart doesn't fumble

I sure hope this doesn't come back to bite him is the ass...
